Here is a time lapse video of the first artwork of my Interdependence series during the month of March, 2016. If you would like to acquire a print of this piece, reach out through my contact page, or visit PM me on any of my social media platforms.
A huge shout out to Sudbury based musicians, Sean Barrette and Evan Newell-Barrette for allowing me to accompany my visuals with their title track from the 2013 album, ‘Signs’. It’s a beautiful song and very suiting for the subject matter of my artwork. To hear more of Sean’s work, visit him at www.seanbarrette.ca
This video depicts my process of using a variety of mediums in completing a piece. All initial designs are laid out using pencil. After completing the design, I use a black Prismacolor 0.1 marker to cover my original line work. For colour, I rely on Sharpie’s and Winsor & Newton markers, chalk pastel, white charcoal, paint pens, acrylic paint, and gel pens. The artwork is then treated with Krylon Workable Fixatif upon completion. All together, this piece took approximately 30 hours to complete. It measures 18 x 18” on Strathmore Bristol.
I would like to thank those of you who encouraged me to put one of these videos together. This is certainly something I will be doing again soon… maybe with a better camera and/or rig.
